Lit- Financial Advisor

I think that the Younger family should do with the $10,000 is put a the money towards everything. I think most of it should go towards a house mama wants, and then have mama save some of the money for Bernetha's college. With the rest of the money they should put it towards some thing else like food or a vacation for mama, or save the some of the money for other things. Berneatha needs money for her college tution and books. Mama wants money for a new house, because she is tired of living in an apartment and there is hardly any room.

The Deserted Cabin
by Paige Moulton
There was a cabin a block and a half from my house. I am pretty sure the cabin is deserted. It’s old and rickety. The roof is falling apart, the lights are always off and no one ever comes outside. Its weird walking by the cabin and it’s so quiet when you walk by the cabin. I heard kids at school saying the house was haunted. That there was a couple that lived in the cabin that died in it. And they say that the couple haunts the house and protects it. I have to walk home sometimes at night, and I don’t know if I can do that anymore. I mean what if something happens to me there is no other people around the cabin. Maybe I’ll take the long way home from now on, just in case.
I was walking down to take the long way home when there was a tall metal gate with a giant chain wrapped around it. I was thinking about climbing over the gate, but then a man started coming over towards the gate. He yelled, “No trespassing! We are doing construction u can’t go this way.” No I was so worried. I would have to go by the deserted cabin to get home. I started walking that way home. Then as I was approaching the cabin I got so nervous, that I started shaking. Then I heard a shriek come from the cabin and I saw a light flicker on then off. I thought to myself that the shriek probably came from somewhere else, and the light flickering was my imagination. But it wasn’t I knew what I heard and saw. I had no idea what to do. So I started running all the way home. I heard a couple more shrieks as I ran past the house. I got home and saw my mom’s car in the driveway. So I ran inside and told her what I had heard and saw. She said she would call the police just in case. She called them and then I saw lights flashing. I looked out the window and saw that the police had went inside to check out the cabin. After they had checked out the cabin the police came over to tell me and mom what they had found. They said that there was no one in the cabin at all. There weren’t any weird noises when they got their and no lights on. I was shocked. I thought there would at least be something. I never saw anything weird again like that at the cabin. I still wonder what I saw and heard, and who was in that cabin.
